Keep simplicity of traditional media

I love all of the suggestions here but my hope is that you can keep the simplicity of traditional media that the app currently has.
The limitations of traditional media encourage more creative decisions, and right now this is the only app that has those limitations in place while also being a good drawing app. It would be really sad to me if we chose intense editing options like transforming drawings, unlimited eye dropper use and more, over creativity.

As someone who learned on traditional sketching, I agree. On the other hand, part of the beauty of traditional style on a digital app is that some things can be made easier and more accessible. Things like layers and dropper use benefit this format, and allow for greater variety of art created. That said, the simplicity is part of the appeal of this app, and is just as important accessibility-wise as potential new features.

Yes, this is a big fear of mine. I love the app for its simplicity. For instance, I love the horizontal flow to the right. It makes writing so much easier. And i fear that when a universal scrolling “canvas” eventually comes, we lose this beautiful simplicity of an endless scroll to the right. I see the new update added vertical option, which is great. And i am grateful this it was kept as an OPTION. Add as much extra goodies as you like (some would be great, like text recognition and searching etc), but keep the core writing to the simple awesomeness that it currently is. Bottom line is, allow the user to use the options or sidestep them if they like. Don’t lose the heart of the app. It is brilliant.

I agree with this idea. Maybe just add a traditional mode that hides anything you can't do on traditional media.

I think it would be great if they had a “simple” interface that reflects the current ui, but also had the option of enabling an “advanced” interface that has all the extra goodies.

I agree that the app should be kept simple, however limiting it to traditional media would be too much. I do see it more as a productivity tool, not as a game. When I feel “encouraged” to make creative decisions, that probably means that a feature is missing. The eye dropper and transforming tools are in my opinion essential.

Note: I still think improvements can be made and features added, it’s just my hope that features implemented keep that in mind and do not sacrifice that. ☺️
