Bring back the month widget
Simon Burbidge
Hi Kara. Thanks for your message.
All of the old widgets should still be available for the time being, but will be removed in future. Nothing has changed with the widgets in the latest version, so if you're not seeing it, then it is likely to be an iOS issue. The old widgets are less reliable in iOS14 - the old widgets system in iOS is not receiving any attention from Apple anymore because of the new iOS14 widgets that can be placed on your home screen, and so unfortunately there's little that we can do to improve those old widgets.
As far as the new widgets go, we do have the Heatmap widget that's similar to the old month widget. It doesn't however show your events for the day because of the size restrictions. We're no longer able to make a taller widget, so given the more square shape of the large widget, we'd either need to show a tiny heatmap with events below it, or just the heatmap with no events below it. We chose the latter because otherwise the heatmap would be unusably small. The other reason we went that way was because since iOS14 we can also no longer allow any interaction with the widgets - tapping areas of the widgets now have to open the app immediately, it can't for example change the selected day in the widget itself. We hope that this will be improved in iOS15, but we have no control over this.
We constantly monitor the situation and are constantly working to improve the apps and widgets, so if it becomes possible for us to implement something more like the old month widget (interactive heatmap with events listed below), then we'll certainly do it.
In the meantime, if you have any technical issues getting the old widgets to work (or for any other area of the apps), then please contact our support team via timepage@moleskinestudio.com or via the Help screen in the app.
